Navajo Storytelling at the Amangiri Resort and Hyatt Hotel

I would like to welcome you. If you are planning on spending a few days in the Page, Arizona and Lake Powell area. Do not forget to stop by for at least thirty minutes and listen to one of my Navajo Storytellings. Thank you and have a beautiful trip.

Earth Surface People featuring Eli Secody - Amangiri, Utah - Aman

Surrounded by thousands of square miles of untouched scenery, Amangiri neighbors the largest Native American reservation in the US. Among the passionate team of Navajo artists working with Amangiri is Eli Secody, who highlights the harmonious living of the Navajo people with this region, its wildlife and the Earth. Eli Secody, a Navajo Native American, brings the dazzling charm and contemporary storytelling of the Navajo people to Amangiri. Ochre in the morning light, apricot by midday, dazzling pink at dusk, the geology of the Grand Staircase-Escalante couldn’t be more dramatic. Residing in 600 acres of the Colorado Plateau, and requiring an Act of Congress to be passed so it could be built here, Amangiri blends into countless untouched square miles of red rock country. In the last remnant of the truly wild West, this ‘mountain of peace’ is cradled by the greatest concentration of national parks in the United States – a staggering landscape of canyons, mesas, mountains, gorges, rapids and desert, with traces of human life dating back more than 10,000 years. Dialogue Earth Movie Trailer

I am very grateful and humbled of being apart of Ulrike Arnold's amazing documentry about her art and passion. Thank you to Hank Levine as well. Everyone enjoy the video. Dialogue Earth a moving portrait of Ulrike Arnold who paints with earth and meteorites from remote areas all around the world, and now travels through archaic, mystical landscapes in the American Southwest, especially the wilderness of southern Utah. Her encounters with old friends, farewells to others who have passed away and the spirituality that Eli Secody of the Navajo Tribe finds in her paintings, lead us to contemplate her legacy and why her upbringing has led her to undergo a lifelong journey of seeking. The day she exhibits her work at White Pocket in the Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, Trump announces his executive order permitting the dismantlement of national monuments, to open up more federal land for exploitation. Visiting the US-Mexican border with artist friend Peter Young, she reveals her plans for her next work: the One World Painting, bringing together all of the earth she has been collecting over the past four decades from all over the globe, as a statement to preserve our unique planet and as an articulation of unity, equality, peace and harmony. “It comes from within the Earth, spreads out to the Sun and continues on into space” - Eli Secody. The One World Painting, a giant exclamation mark, shall be exhibited on upcoming Earthdays. (Ulrike Aronld, YouTube 2024)
